FAQ - Deploying control with the smart device project


Option 1. The control (runtime .dll) may be placed in the same directory as the project executable.

The control .dll may be placed in the same directory as the project. This method does not require that the control be registered on the handheld device.
The project executable will automatically find the control .dll should it be in the same directory.


Option 2. The control (runtime .dll) may be registered on the handheld device and placed in the /Windows directory.

Either of these methods are considered appropriate as described by the Microsoft paper:
